Local business booms at Caroline Springs

More than 30 local businesses have already staked their claim on major commercial and shopping centre Caroline Springs Central in Melbourne’s west.

Caroline Springs Central will provide one of Melbourne’s fastest growing regions with a much-needed retail and commercial facility.

IGA, Priceline, Re-Creation Health Club, Westpac Bank, Nando’s, Ferguson Plarre Bakehouse and Subway, have already opened their doors at the state-of-the-art centre within the Caroline Springs Town Centre precinct.

Caroline Springs project director Vanessa Normandin said Caroline Springs Central had received positive feedback from tenants and customers, with a wide range of services available to the local community and the wider region.

“Caroline Springs Central has something for everyone, from your everyday shopping at IGA, through to a special dinner at the Thai Restaurant,” she said.

“It has become an attractive commercial precinct for many businesses due to the benefits of the area including a collaborative business environment, central location, and community infrastructure.

“The growth of Caroline Springs’ Town Centre and the wider community has provided us with the opportunity to develop this site which includes appealing restaurant, shop and commercial space, which will continue to serve the needs of the rapidly growing community and wider western region.

“As well as providing the western corridor with much-needed retail and commercial facilities, the centre would also provide hundreds of jobs for the growing region.

Caroline Springs Central, located on Caroline Springs Boulevard, will house 37 retail and commercial outlets, including around 3500 square metres of office space over four levels, with the majority of traders living locally.

The centre also offers tenants and customers more than 350 free undercover car spaces; a unique scenario for suburban shopping centres.

Located 22 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD, Caroline Springs is an 800 hectare development encompassing 13 villages around Lake Caroline. It will be home to more than 23,000 people in 8,000 homes by around the year 2013. The region is expected to house more than 50,000 people by 2015.

Caroline Springs is being developed by Delfin Lend Lease, Australia’s largest developer of masterplanned communities, with 16 trading projects nationally.
